How to Enter Colorado SUTA Rates in Payroll

Learn how to find and enter your Colorado SUTA rates in payroll and how to find those rates in your Colorado Employer portal

Your Colorado annual rate notice will include three rates, all of which need to be entered separately in Patriot. You can also find these rates in MYUI Employer+ on the state’s website. What rates do I enter for Colorado SUTA?

You can find your Colorado SUTA rates by either the state mailed notice or in your employer account on the state's website.

How to find your Colorado SUTA rates on your state-mailed rate notice

Enter these rates on the software.

  • Your SUTA rate is the “Base Rate” (Item 6) on the rate notice.

  • Your Colorado Support Surcharge rate is “Support Rate” (Item 7) on the rate notice.

  • Your Colorado “Solvency Surcharge” rate is (Item 8) on the rate notice.

The total combined rate (Item 9) is for your information only.

How to find your Colorado SUTA rates in your online account MYUI

  • Account Maintenance > View Rate Notice

  • Select the current year and click Search

  • You will see a screen with three rates and the combined rate at the end. You will enter the three rates separately in Patriot. The combined rate is for your information only.

  • Enter these rates in the software by clicking the Edit link for each.

    • Your Base Rate should be entered into Colorado State Unemployment (SUTA) in Patriot.

    • Your Support Rate should be entered into Colorado Support Surcharge in Patriot.

    • Your Solvency Surcharge should be entered into Colorado Solvency Surcharge in Patriot.
