Patriot Software includes several built-in tools to help you find answers without leaving the software. When you need to speak with someone directly, Patriot's U.S.-based support team is available by chat, phone, and email during business hours.

Patriot offers free, U.S.-based customer support by chat, phone, and email. There is no charge for routine support

Support hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time


In-Software Help Tools

Hint Help Icons (Question Mark Icons)

Help icons appear throughout Patriot Software as small question marks inside circles. These icons provide quick, page-specific guidance without navigating away from your current task.

  • Hover over a help icon to see a brief tip or explanation.

  • Click a help icon to open a suggested help article from the Patriot Help Center in a new window.

Help icons are turned turned on by default when you first log in and are turned off or on by the Hints On/Off link in the footer of the software.


Video Icons (TV Icons)

Some pages in Patriot Software display a small TV icon. Clicking a video icon opens a step-by-step training video for that page or feature. For example, the video icon on the Run Payroll page links to a walkthrough of how to pay an employee.

Video icons are turned on by default when you first log in and are turned off or on by the Hints On/Off link in the footer of the software.

Turning Icons and Hints Off

If you prefer to hide both the help icons and video icons, click the Hints On/Off link at the very bottom of any page in the software. This toggle hides both icons and any inline hint messages. Clicking Hints On/Off again will restore them.


The Help Center

The Patriot Help Center contains written articles and videos covering every area of the software. You can access the Help Center from anywhere in Patriot Software.

How to Access the Help Center

There are two ways to access the help center in your software

  1. Click the Get Help link at the top of any page in Patriot Software.

    Get help link is called out by a red square

2. Click the purple icon at the right bottom corner of your software screen.


The Help center will pop up at the bottom right corner of your software. Click the home icon to see support options:

Search for a Help Article

There are two ways to search for articles in the Help Center:

  1. From the help center home page click Search for Help

  2. At the bottom of the help center click Help


    ​3. Type your topic in the search bar at the top of the Help Center.

  3. Click on the help article applies to your question.

  4. The help article will open at the right side of your software screen.


Live Chat (Messenger)

Live chat is available during support hours, 9:00 a.m - 7:00 p.m ET, Monday - Friday.

To start a chat:

  1. Click Get Help at the top of any page, or by clicking the purple arrow at the bottom right of your software screen.

  2. There are two ways to initiate the chat in the help center:

    • On the home screen: Click Ask a question

    • At the bottom of the help center: Click Messages

To answer your question as quickly as possible, Fin, our AI agent, may assist with chats after normal support hours with information in Patriot's Help Center and support resources. Our team reviews answers for quality and accuracy, so we can keep improving your support.

How to Get Live Support

At anytime during a conversation with our AI agent you would like to speak to our live support, please just type "human," "agent," "person", "representative," and our team will takeover.

Finding Your Chat/Message History

You can find your most recent 14 days of conversation history in the messenger section of the help center.

If you have access to multiple companies, the messages will be the most recent 14 days worth of messages for any of the companies you have messaged about no matter which account you are logged into.

Download a Chat Transcript

To download your current chat transcript

  1. Click the three dots in the right corner of your help center chat.

  2. Click the download transcript link.

You can also email Patriot directly at the following addresses:

Patriot's support team responds to email messages during support hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time). Email support anytime with your account number and your question. Patriot will respond in the order emails are received.
